The Canadian Preppers Network is a group of interconnected provincial network blogs that fall under the umbrella of the CPN. We are a group of volunteer authors who contribute articles to the provincial network blogs with the hope of raising awareness of emergency-preparedness, self-reliance and self-sufficiency in Canada.
Please see the widget below to link to any/all provincial network blogs.
OK, so you have all heard how we should all be growing some amount of food. Wheather in a huge outdoor garden or in a couple of flower pots in the window...let's hear what YOU are growing and why.
Because they were garden gifts shared from friends' gardens - garlic, egyptian walking onions, asperagus; or already growing wild on the property when we bought it - rhubarb, choke cherries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries; herbs - rose, calendula and others; wildcrafting which we let grow for medicinal use, soil improvement and joy - alder, bay berry and dandelion.
Going to be stealth-gardening some stuff in the area, but won't be around to maintain a proper food garden... Would love to be growing peas, maybe some tomato plants.
